James Jean at Jonathan Levine in New York

Illustrator extraordinare James Jean is showing now at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York City in his first solo exhibition titled Kindling. Known primarily as a comic book artist, James has shown his remarkable ability to command all levels of artistry, showing all original large scale mixed media paintings, drawings and abstractions on canvas and paper. It is a remarkable show and some of James' strongest work to date. It is work like James' and his rich and complex narratives that gets us excited about art again in this ever-expanding visual world.

The show runs from Jan 10th through Feb 7th, 2009. We strongly suggest anyone who is in the NY area, go and check out this show!

Tank Theory Profile - Danny Jones

We have updated the Tank Theory site for January with three new bangers.. Molotov, January's Tshirt of the Month; Firecrackers, a new Standard tee; and Streetwear, a recent Artist Society tee by a new designer to the roster, Danny Jones.

Danny is an Orlando, Florida based designer who has worked across the fashion industry spreading all types of visual terror. For Tank Theory, Danny created a sweet little critic of the Streetwear industry and we loved it! This one pretty much sews that one up..

When you get a minute, let those fingers do the walking over to www.yasly.com to see what's new in his world.
